What is a homestay family?

The Guardian Family Network offers guardianship support to overseas students at UK independent boarding schools.

The GNet homestay families are people who have a particular interest in the wellbeing of children.

We have a policy of one overseas child with one family so that you can rest assured that the family will give your child the academic and emotional support that they require during their time at school in the UK.

They will attend parents’ evenings on your behalf, watch your child play in music concerts or sports matches and keep in regular contact with both you and your child so they can act quickly should any concerns or issues arise.

We love helping children from abroad and we find this experience very rewarding.

We have long standing relationships with the majority of top UK schools.

Caring families

We have a policy of one overseas child with one family for your peace of mind.

Staying in touch and being well-organised is a vital element for our guardian agency.

How can we help?

Register your child for weekends and half term holidays in our various boarding schools partners.

Our homestay families offer the opportunity to provide a home from home support to a child from abroad.

We have relationships with more than sixty of the UK’s finest schools with our guardianship agency.

We offer both basic and prestige guardianship services with an excellent level of communication.

What happens to my child during guardianship?

It is normal for your child to remain with the same homestay family throughout their time with us, meaning long-lasting, trusting relationships will grow as they progress through their time at school.

Indeed many children come to see their homestay as their ‘English’ family.

We are a dedicated team that communicates in a timely manner liaising between our partner agencies, schools and homestay families to ensure that our students receive the best academic and pastoral support whilst they are studying in the UK.

Networking meeting in Surrey

I met Siobhan Skaife at a networking meeting about 4 years ago and when she passionately talked about her business, I was really interested.
What a lovely business she has … providing an important service to families across the globe, sending their children to the UK for their education.
She uses her integrity and caring nature, to source suitable homestays all over the UK, to host a child at a nearby boarding school.
This means she has an extensive filtering system to ensure the child is well matched to the homestay in their family life, interests and their values.
